The Story of YOKUMU

Made for Desire. Inspired by Dreams.

After years of creating high-quality leather harnesses, I felt the desire to explore something new — something with a deeper meaning, a stronger identity, and a story of its own.

That journey led me to Japan. Living here gave me the opportunity to discover its culture, language, and traditions more deeply. I became fascinated by the beauty of traditional kimono, the structure of obi belts, and the art of shibari — its intricate lines, connections, and the balance between restraint and freedom.

These influences gradually shaped a new vision: to bring the aesthetics of Japanese traditions into contemporary leather design. I wanted to create pieces that combine the strength of leather, the elegance of traditional forms, and the expressive nature of modern fashion. Accessories that can be worn as a bold statement or incorporated into everyday outfits.

This vision became YOKUMU.

The name reflects the ideas behind my work. YOKU, inspired by the Japanese character 欲, represents desire — the passion that drives us to create, explore, and express ourselves. MU, inspired by 夢 (yume, meaning dream), represents imagination and the freedom to envision something new.

For me, YOKUMU is about bringing these ideas together — combining craftsmanship with creativity, Japanese inspiration with contemporary design, and tradition with personal expression.

Every piece is part of an ongoing exploration of leather, form, and identity. My goal is not simply to recreate traditional influences, but to reinterpret them in a way that feels distinctive, modern, and wearable.

YOKUMU — where desire meets dreams.
